There must be a good moment to tell your parents you're gay; or at least a bad one!  Imagine growing up in a small, religious village in the country and trying to find that perfect moment.  Meanwhile asking God for help and coming out to your friends for practice.  Your deepest feelings are only confided to your diary, promising yourself that you're really going to tell them tomorrow.  Popular young Dutch comedian Johan Goossens had toured extensively before he found his diary from the years of puberty.  In a comedy club, he just went on stage and started reading from it - sharing his most intimate adolescent thoughts.  The audience were hooked and listened in utter silence continuing to burst out with applause and laughter.   Dublin is in for a treat!

When you hear Steven Brinberg as Barbra singing 'Evergreen', 'Memories', 'Close To You' for the first brief moment you almost think "My God, is that really her?"(Streisand)  It's so captivating. Not only does he have a wonderful take on her and an innate ability to imitate her, he also captures a lot of moments and nuances that leave you breathless. Steven created 'Simply Barbra' in 1993 and played a record breaking five year run in New York winning both a MAC AWARD and a BISTRO AWARD. Having performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Centre and the Library Of Congress, he branched out to 28 US States and 8 countries worldwide.  Steven has performed  as Barbra at special celebrity events (sometimes at the request of Miss Streisand's management) for the likes of Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joan Rivers and for Barbra Streisand's best friend, Donna Karan.

Rick Skye impersonates LIZA with unsurpassable energy and comedy - through clever re-wording of classic hits and mimicry, Liza becomes an icon de force of hilarity and ingenuity.  Rick Skye works his way through sharp parodies of such diverse songs as 'Mein Herr', 'Maybe This Time' and 'Sara Lee'.  Along with a pair of unquestionably alluring legs, his tribute with a twist includes a 'new' Charles Aznavour song, a screen test for the upcoming musical film 'Sunset Boulevard', a 'Happy Endings' production number and a tribute to 'one of her famous parents'.

As THE TIMES reported "Skye's channeling of LIZA the unbowed superstar, is sensational!".

Tennessee Suite

Tennessee Suite

Dates:  Monday 10th to Saturday 15th May
Time:  8.00pm Nightly & Matinee Saturday 15th at 2.30pm
Price: €15 / €13 Concession

The european premiere of 'TENNESSEE SUITE' begins with 'THE TRAVELLING COMPANION' - a late self-portrait by Tennessee Williams, set in a New York City hotel, it depicts a standoff between an aging writer, much like Williams, and a young man who the writer picked up at a San Francisco gay bar and hired as a travelling companion. Unfortunately, this snappish youth insists that he is straight and refuses to sleep in the same bed as his benefactor.  Filled with stammers and incomplete sentences .....will this piece of trade turn dirt??

The second short story 'THE CHALKY WHITE SUBSTANCE' follows:  William's science fiction fantasia of trust and betrayal.  Performers Lawrence and Clause, both hooded now, scheme for survival in a landscape devastated by nuclear war.  "These two-handers, both written around 1980 and both concerning the power strugles between men, resonate with themes that dog Williams' body of work: brutality, old age, homosexuality, vulnerability, appearance versus reality".

This lyrical, erotic and visually stunning production 'Tennessee Suite' in Dublin for the very first time, is from America's critically acclaimed Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival, who examine and celebrate the work, life and evolving historical importance of Tennessee Williams.

The experience the audience takes away depends on the scenes thay have seen and when they have seen them.  A very confident actor, Martin Lewton, created, directs and performs this insight into the gay world.  Once you're over the nudity, you will be captivated by the sheer genius of this performance  ....... guaranteed to be a provocative and thought provoking evening.
