Schools and Community
Drama is not simply a subject, but also, and more importantly, a method. It is both a creative art form and a learning tool.
We believe that drama offers vital educational opportunity, either for personal skills or to approach social issues in a fun and relevant way, with remarkable results. The benefits of drama for children, teenagers and young adults have been widely acknowledged and include among them:
- Improved communication skills
- Independent and critical thinking
- Social growth and the ability to work with others
- Development of imagination and aesthetic awareness
- Healthy release of emotion
- Knowledge of self
- Fun and recreation
- An introduction to the theatre
Therefore, and in an effort to share our ideas and practices with other organizations and groups, we have developed our Outreach Program, extending the work of the GSA to schools, educational institutions and community programs.
Our experienced theatre professionals deliver specially tailored programs, designed according to the context, vision and needs of each group and educational level.
Our renowned EDUCATE program is developed in Primary and Post-Primary Education, including specially designed workshops for Junior Cycle, Transition Year and Leaving Certificate.
We also have the best experience delivering programs for COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, such as Youthreach, and for HIGHER EDUCATION students, either for Third Level, Further Education or Drama Societies, offering also specialized courses and workshops on acting techniques and Irish drama.
Explore and find the program that best suits your needs. If we dont have it yet, you can suggest it here.
