The Stage Combat Workshop
This 40 hour course taught over 8 Sundays by Paul Burke, Equity Fight Director/ IDCA instructor. This is the workshop to choose if you have taken the introductory course or have had some previous basic training. The course offers training in Weapons (rapier and dagger, Fencing) and unarmed combat for Stage and Screen, with emphasis on preparing students for the optional fight proficiency test. This is a performance based course with students applying action to text. The course is the most comprehensive part time stage combat tuition available to actors in Irealnd
On successful completion of this course students have the opportunity to take the Irish Dramactic Combat Academy (IDCA) fight proficiency test. Stage Combat is a highly recommended learning tool in the evolution of the actor’s development of co-ordination, presence and movement.
