Young Gaiety Saturday School at The Portlaoise Heritage Hotel:

The Young Gaiety Saturday School is the most comprehensive acting course available to young actors in Ireland. Students learn the mechanics of acting by developing voice, movement, characterisation and improvisation skills. Each fun-packed term focuses on specific performance techniques and culminates in a showcase demonstrating these skills.

Classes in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel start at the age of 4, and continue up to age 13.

Portlaoise Young Gaiety Saturday School

The Young Gaiety Saturday School is the most comprehensive acting course available to young actors in Ireland. The yearlong programme consists of 3 ten-week terms. The structure of the courses is both flexible and comprehensive, allowing students to participate in anything from a 10-week course to a 3-year cycle.

Drama Workshop  

Have fun, learn drama skills, meet new friends, gain confidence and expand your imagination. These lively group workshops develop teamwork and improvisation techniques, culminating in a devised showcase at the end of term 3. This course is ideal for students who are only beginning to study drama and who want to build their confidence and creativity.

Performance Workshop

Learn the mechanics of acting. In the Performance Workshop students develop voice, movement, characterisation, improvisation, ensemble and devising skills. Each term, a specific performance skill will be introduced such as dance, singing, mime or puppetry. This course is ideal for those students who are serious about developing their acting skills.
