Tale Town
Presented In Partnership with Temple Bar Cultural Trust
Created by Seamus Quinn
This July, the mythical world of Tale Town will return to Temple Bar, and once again the residents need your help! There's a thief roaming Happenchance Street, one of Tale Town's oldest and happiest streets. The thief is causing uproar amongst the residents and must be stopped before Happenchance Street is destroyed for good.
How will the story unfold?
Who or what is at the centre of this problem?
When will it stop, if ever?
You decide...
Building on last year's acclaimed workshops and performances, Tale Town's ‘The Thief of Happenchance Street' is a unique creative opportunity for children and young people between the ages of 7 and 13. The week long course will be a complete theatrical experience incorporating acting, creative writing, stagecraft, music, singing, mime and movement. Each student will have the opportunity to create and introduce a new character to Tale Town, who will be a part of an open air performance in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar at the end of the week.
This year Tale Town will also be recreated in Navan, in the Solstice Arts Centre.
"My daughter loved the variety of topics covered, in one week you learned about costumes, mask making, voxpop , drama and choreography. She was completely engaged."
