Dublin and Ireland have changed radically in the last decade or two and the culture has changed from a relatively homogenous Irish Catholic society to one which shows a growing number of ethnic and religious backgrounds and communities. There are now communities of many nationalities and shops, restaurants and places of worship around the city reflect this.
There is also a wide tolerance for people of differing sexual identities and there are plenty of places around the city to socialise.
Racially, Dublin has become very much more diverse in the past couple of decades. There are large African, Eastern European, and Chinese communities amongst many others.
The Gaiety School of Acting will of course do our best to accommodate the religious needs of students who may want to attend services. Please feel free to talk to us about the locations of churches, mosques and synagogues and we will be happy to help you find suitable arrangements.
