Summer Courses
The Gaiety School of Acting, Ireland's Premier Drama School, is delighted to introduce you to our Summer 2008 programme. There's something for everyone in our packed line-up of exciting new courses, so no matter what your age, have a read through this brochure; you might just find something you like!
We'll be kicking off the summer with a visit to the mythical world of Tale Town, where each student will create their own character, who will join us for the adventure of a lifetime. Each Friday afternoon for 3 weeks, Meeting House Square will be transformed into Tale Town for the outdoor end-of-week extravaganza.
I am also happy to announce that we will be embarking on a totally new project this summer - the delivery of drama courses through the Irish language. We are at a time where more and more Irish people recognise the importance of the Irish language within Irish culture, and wish to find new areas in which it can be used. As such, we have developed this brand new course for 7 to 13 year olds, where they can speak and improve their Irish in a creative, fun environment.
There are lots more courses to choose from, including our ever popular Young Gaiety Summer Camps, which will be running in venues around the country, the Footloose Song & Dance Workshop and Make a Movie.
There's also a whole host of courses for our adult students, including weekend workshops in Audition Technique, Improvisation and more!
If you see a course here that you or someone you know might be interested in, make the leap and give us a call.
Best Wishes,
Patrick Sutton

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!
This exciting ‘hands-on' course is designed for students eager to learn the basics of film making and to have a valued input into the creation of an original short movie.
Students will also explore the differences between stage and screen acting and become versed in the necessary film language. In just one week, participants will write, direct and shoot a short movie guided by an experienced tutor.
At the end of the course, each crew/cast member will receive an edited DVD to remind them of their unique film making experience.
