Adult Theatre Company

The Theatre Company works over three terms towards a performance. The students develop an insight into rehearsal techniques, in-depth knowledge of creating a rounded character, and working in an ensemble. Guided by a theatre professional, students are getting involved in performance, as well as marketing and fund-raising. The result of the three terms will be shown in a Cork Theatre, or site-specific. Students have gone on to start their own theatre company, to devise one-person shows or to perform in other shows in Cork. Most of them just keep coming back for another year….

Participants of Adult Theatre Company can expect to:

• Working in an ensemble and experiencing peer support
• Developing your acting technique to public performance level
• Insight into independent theatre work
• Developing a character for the duration of a play
• Loud and long laughter during rehearsals
• Exhilaration at the opening night
