Page to Stage

This 10 week long course will expand on the skills and confidence developed in Introduction to Drama or a similar drama course. Students will study script writing, text analysis and character development necessary to create effective performance. Page to Stage will focus on the character devising process, developing scene work for performance to a high level.

Participants of Page to Stage can expect to:

• have the opportunity to approach and work with text creatively, plays are meant to be performed.
• get training in how to approach text from a performance perspective.
• experience rehearsal and all the investigation, repetition, emotional and physical exploration this involves.
• rehearse with a scene partner which is imperative performance training as acting is a group activity.
• experience and understand the actor-director relationship.
• bring these scenes to performance level and then perform them for an invited audience hence following the rehearsal process through.
