Easter Courses
The GSA will be offering a selection of intensive courses for both adults and young people during the Easter 2012 break. Our course details are listed below so click on a course name to find out more details.
Adult Musical Theatre
This class is ideal for students with a strong interest in performance and
musical theatre, who would like to gain confidence in their vocal technique.
Students will also work on text, bringing well known scenes and routines
to performance level for a showcase at the end of the term. No previous
experience is required, as vocal training will be given to suit each individual
student’s needs. All you need is enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.
Participants of the Musical Theatre course can expect to:
- Be taught how to deconstruct the lyrics and meaning of a song
- Explore structure of song through the eyes of both the character and composer
- Identify and discuss work of composer/ lyricists and the"clues" laid out by them, for the performer, in a musical theatre piece.
- Use taught techniques to communicate, not only vocally, but physically with an audience.
- Learn how to set and/or "move" a musical theatre piece
- Explore how to perform and interpret a song for audition, outside of a dramatic context.
