The BA (Hons) in Acting is designed to train professional actors who will go on to work at the forefront of the theatre, television and film industries. The programme is designed to develop actors who are capable of both the interpretation and creation of dramatic works.
Talent and potential are only part of what we look for in a prospective actor - dedication, imagination and intellectual curiosity are essential qualities which will be tested to the limit during our rigorous three-year, full-time programme.
The course will provide you with the core performance physical skills and theoretical knowledge required to act. It will also equip you with a commercial understanding of the industry and encourage your career development through developing links between the actor and the professional employers.
After completing the course, you will begin your career with a solid foundation of technique, knowledge of a wide variety of performance theories and an intellectual rigour capable of surviving and contributing to the ongoing and extraordinarily rewarding journey of becoming an actor.
Please Note: Commencement of the BA (Hons) in Acting in 2008 is subject to HEA funding approval, details of which will be posted on www.gaietyschool.com.
